Darja Reznikova
MA, BA (Hons)

Darja Reznikova is a Ukrainian dance and theatre artist, choreographer, educator, lecturer
and researcher from Germany.
She has gained her early and formal education across various countries such as the Ukraine, Germany, United States and the United Kingdom. After gaining a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Dance and Theatre Performance at Bird College in London and receiving the Doreen Bird Achievement Award she joined Transitions Dance Company at TrinityLaban - Conservatoire for Music and Dance. Alongside touring with the company she completed a Masters of Arts in
Dance Performance with Distinction. Her personal experience and the development of her thesis during that time prompted her interest in further research, in particular the investigation into a holistic integration of voice and movement. She is currently developing an inquiry into a possible integrative and interdisciplinary training approach for performers in relation to the reciprocal nature of the body's physical and vocal potential as part of her Postgraduate
Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at Rose Bruford College in London.
Throughout her career as a freelance dance artist and collaborator she had the opportunity to work with various contemporary choreographers, directors and companies primarily in the UK. Some amongst others include Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Joe Wright (Anna Karenina), Anh Ngoc Nguyen (Random Dance Company), H2Dance, Cameron McMillan (Bonachela Dance Company), Angela Woodhouse, Colin Poole, Fleur Darkin, Charles Linehan, Marc Bruce, Tassandra Chavez, the Maxwell Dance Project, Appetite Dance Productions and Joss
Arnott Dance.
Alongside her ongoing research interests and performance work Darja was a faculty member at Bird College between 2010 and 2016 where she was involved as a dance educator in Release Technique, lecturer in Analysis and Appreciation, academic tutor and choreographer. She has now established a base in South-West Germany where she continues to give integrative Sound
Body workshops and Release based contemporary classes on a regular basis. In September 2016 Darja has joined the faculty at Dance Professional - Berufskolleg für Bühnentanz, Choreografie und Tanzpädagogik in Mannheim while continuing her activities as an external Academic tutor in London.
